For instance, do you know you can actually dissolve kidney or gall stones with tea?** Use flowers of goldenrod ( not a weed!), which treats chronic kidney inflammation and can treat and prevent stones: Commission E recommends 3-4 cups per day between meals, using 5 tsp. chopped dried flowering shoots per cup! So cut the weed,dry it, and drink it rather than eliminate!
Forget the myth that spicy is not good: turmeric, found in curries and mustard, is useful to prevent and treat gallstones. Cur-cumin found in turmeric increases the solubility of bile. Go heavy on it, as good also for arthritis and inflammations in general.
Milk thistle, also a “weed” is rich in silymarin, protects the liver and increases bile solubility, helping to prevent gallstones!
Of course, cranberry and blueberry can prevent bacteria in the bladder, but you would have to eat or drink 17 oz./day to be effective. Add them to your pancakes or breads! Leaves of cherry birch and uva ursi ( bearberry) and buchu make a good tea and treat not only infection but inflammation of the kidneys!
Add that parsley and drink” stone relieving” peppermint/spearmint tea, adding some cardamom, rich in borneol. Cardamom is flavorful on fish or to vegetables, and seeds from the parsley variety, cilantro, used in Mexican foods!
Drink or eat plenty of water, and omit sodas as they remove calcium from the bone, and eat foods high in magnesium, found in vegetables and nuts.
A low fat, low cholesterol diet is usually recommended, but we need the fats to absorb vitamins, and the cells of our bodies need cholesterol. Dr. Lundell recommends we avoid vegetable oils which cause inflammation: avoid soybeans, corn, sunflower oils/foods . Use only butter, coconut, canola and olive oil, and lard! Supplement your diet with Omega-3 fish oil, and eat sardines, salmon and mackerel fish! Get rid of processed foods like margarine! Back to Basic!! Exercise daily!
